Common Cause Ohio is working to hold power accountable at the state and local levels. Common Cause Ohio is active on a number of issue campaigns including election and redistricting reform, media reform and campaign finance reform. Common Cause Ohio played an important role in addressing the gerrymandering issue with the state legislature. The result in Ohio has been that, although the total number of votes cast for each major party is consistently close, the party that drew the maps won 75% of the seats (12 of 16) even though they only got roughly 50-60% of the votes.
