Candidate for Ohio Senate District 19, shares her experience and goals and asks for help in her campaign.
Breaking news: Dispatch endorses Valentine!
“We believe voters would do well by selecting Democratic candidate Louise Valentine in the 19th Senate District for a fresh perspective.” Andrew Brenner “did not effectively use his platform as House Education Committee chair to raise outcomes for Ohio students but instead has been seen as an impediment to public-school improvement.”
“As a mother of twin 6-year-old boys, I know how crucial it is that we create a strong Ohio where our children can thrive. Every Ohio child deserves access to a quality public education, affordable and accessible health care, and a good-paying job when they’re grown. For too long Ohio’s legislators have failed to fight for Ohio families – that’s why I decided to run for the Ohio Senate.
“As a business leader at L Brands for 10 years, I never imagined I would run for office. However, when my twin boys entered First Grade in Westerville City Schools, I knew I had to do more to give them, and all Ohio children, an opportunity to thrive right here in our state.
“My main goals for the Ohio Senate will be to work across the aisle to:
- Fully and fairly fund our local public schools and hold charter schools accountable
- Expand and protect access to quality, affordable health care and save protections for Ohioans with pre-existing conditions
- Invest in trade and tech schools to prepare our students for the jobs of tomorrow
