Danny O’Connor is focusing on the student vote ahead of the November rematch for the 12th Congressional District. The Special Election results were certified on Aug. 24, 2018 and showed Republican Troy Balderson bested O’Connor by just 0.8% — or 1,680 votes.
“The grassroots army we’ve created is not done yet. In fact, we’re just getting started,” O’Connor said in a statement released to the media. “We have eleven weeks to keep talking to voters, listening to their ideas, and to bring home a win for working families in Central Ohio this November.”
O’Connor’s huge campaign effort across District 12 included hundreds of volunteers, many in Delaware County, knocking on doors, handing out campaign literature, visiting community markets and more. The campaign will need that momentum to continue into the November 6 election, where O’Connor will face the same opponent for the next two-year term.
