As expected, the Ohio legislature has come to an agreement on how to complete the March 17 Presidential Primary that was interrupted by the corona-virus threat to public health.
Three major points:
1. If you already voted, your vote will be counted.
2. If you have not yet voted, you can download an absentee ballot application, complete it and vote by mail, with a postmark no later than April 27, 2020. The application asks for your name, address, the same type of ID you would present at the polls, and you must indicate that you wish to vote in the March 17, 2020 Primary, writing in the Political Party of your choice. If you wish to vote Issues Only, please check your sample ballot to see whether that is an option for your voting location.
3. Exceptions will be made for those people who are not able to vote a paper ballot with limited in-person voting at Boards of Elections on April 28 only.
I encourage those who have not yet voted to request your absentee ballot as soon as possible, and return it via USPS. The Board of Elections office has limited staffing in order to continue to protect our workers.
Please keep yourself and your loved ones safe. We can do this together by staying apart for a limited time.
